Michael Palin will receive the 2024 Special Contribution Award at the Travel Media Awards on 28 October at The Four Seasons Hotel London at Park Lane. The Travel Media Awards is pleased to announce Michael Palin will be honoured with the 2024 Special Contribution Award at this year’s ceremony on 28 October at The Four Seasons Hotel London at Park Lane.

Michael Palin, a name that resonates with audiences worldwide, first captivated the public as a member of Monty Python’s Flying Circus. His talent for blending absurd humour with insightful commentary helped make Monty Python a cultural phenomenon. Beyond comedy, Palin’s career has evolved into a rich tapestry of acting, writing and travel storytelling, making him a household name across multiple generations.

After achieving worldwide fame with Monty Python, Michael embarked on a new journey as a travel presenter, beginning with the groundbreaking BBC series Around the World in 80 Days. His genuine curiosity endeared him to viewers, transforming him into one of the most beloved travel presenters. His travel documentaries, including Pole to Pole and Himalaya, have entertained and educated millions about the world’s diverse cultures and landscapes.
