Celebrating outstanding talent within the travel media industry

Launched in 2015, the Travel Media Awards is the UK’s only awards dedicated exclusively to recognising editorial excellence across travel journalism, photography, broadcasting and content creation.

Now in its 12th year, the awards continue to honour the writers, editors, broadcasters and photographers shaping the way audiences experience the world.

Each category is judged by a panel of three, comprising two leading travel industry professionals alongside an established travel editor or writer. To ensure fresh perspectives, at least 25% of the judging panel changes each year. In 2025, 60 judges from leading travel businesses and media organisations participated.

In 2025, outstanding journalists, publications and broadcasters were honoured across 24 categories. Highlights included recognition for excellence in national newspaper travel sections, sustainability reporting, photography and consumer travel writing. Simon Calder received the Special Contribution Award in recognition of his outstanding impact on travel journalism.

Entries for the 2026 Awards open on 4 March 2026. This year’s ceremony will take place at The Savoy, London, on Monday 26 October 2026.

A £25 + VAT entry fee applies per category, supporting the continued growth and delivery of the awards programme.

Entrants can apply for as many of the 24 categories as they wish, showcasing their work and gaining recognition from industry leaders and peers.
