The Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA) is a parastatal organisation, falling under the aegis of the Ministry of Tourism. The mandate of the MTPA is to showcase Mauritius as the perfect tourist destination through various international visibility promotional campaigns. Press trips, educational tours and familiarisation tours are regularly organised for tour operators and the international press to increase awareness about the destination. The MTPA works in close collaboration with the travel trade and tourism stakeholders to position the destination internationally.
